Bio

Sk Imadul Islam completed his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, India (2021), under the supervision of Professor Rajib Kumar Mitra, specializing in ultrafast dynamics and spectroscopic investigations of fluorescent probes. He subsequently joined Professor Yung Sam Kim’s Two-Dimensional Infrared (2DIR) spectroscopy laboratory at UNIST, Ulsan, South Korea, as a postdoctoral research associate.

Currently, Dr. Imadul is a postdoctoral researcher at Rutgers University in the USA, working with Professors Paul Falkowski and Vikas Nanda. His research focuses on experimental studies of the origins of life, electron-transfer reactions, and the design and characterization of protein-based metallo-catalysts that replicate early enzymatic systems.

Research Focus

Protein-based metallo-catalyst and Electron transfer and biophysical spectroscopy

Dr. Imadul has conducted international research in South Korea (UNIST) and the United States (Rutgers University), collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in spectroscopy, protein engineering, and origins-of-life research.
