Bio

After completing a BSc Hons. degree in Human Physiology and a MSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics, both from the Calcutta University, India, Dr. Dey has significantly contributed to the field of structure-based drug discovery against hypertension and cardiac-hypertrophy taking dopamine beta hydroxylase and cytochrome b5 reductase3 as two targets during his doctoral work in the supervision of Prof. Suman Kundu of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Delhi, India. His phenomenal research findings facilitated by his enormous scientific skills in the biophysical, biochemical, and animal model systems has resulted into two published patents (201811005899A and 201711036983A) and many high-impact research papers.

Buoyed by his expertise in the fields of structural biology and protein biochemistry, he is continuously accomplishing his postdoctoral research by expressing, purifying, characterizing and solving cryo-EM structures of challenging HIV and SARS-CoV-2 protein and polyproteins in Prof. Eddy Arnold’s lab at CABM.
