Bio

Kaiya Bhatia is a graduate student in the Graduate Program in Neuroscience in Rutgers University, doing her thesis work in Dr. Jennifer Mulle’s Lab. She earned her B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior from Vassar College in 2022. Following graduation, she worked for two years as a research assistant in the Molecular Neurobiology Laboratory at McLean Hospital, utilizing cortical and hippocampal organoid models to study schizophrenia development. Kaiya’s current research is focused on understanding the consequences of the 3q29 deletion on microglia characteristics and functionality.
