Bio

Ahmad is fervent PHD structural biologist having research experience in Macromolecular X-ray and Neutron crystallography. After having good exposure to molecular-level structure elucidation technique like X-ray crystallography, got two years work experience in neutron protein crystallography in combination with other structural biology techniques. Utilized a world-class high flux neutron source at Oak Ridge National Lab to find an unambiguous hydrogen position enables us to get more insight into the enzymes active site and their exact reaction mechanism with an emphasis on Staphylococcus Nuclease, Flavodoxin and Aminoglycoside modifying Enzymes.

He received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Structural Biology from the Central Drug Research Institute, India, followed by a postdoctoral stay at the Oak Ridge National Lab, Tennessee in the lab of Dr Dean Myles. In Feb 2022, Dr. Ahmadullah Ansari was recruited to join as a postdoctoral associate to the Lab of Distinguished Professor Eddy Arnold at CABM Rutgers.

Research Focus

Structural and Functional characterization of Viral Proteins, emphasizing on polymerases including Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever Virus (CCHFV), Lassa and SARS-CoV-2 and associated proteins.
