Dr. Liisa Veerus has been appointed to the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Young Leaders Circle for a three-year term from 2026–2029, following her service as the ASM U.S. Young Ambassador for New Jersey from 2024–2026. The Young Leaders Circle provides strategic direction and a cohesive voice for ASM’s early-career programs, including the Young Ambassadors and Student Chapters. In this role, Dr. Veerus will help represent the perspectives of early-career microbiologists and contribute to the development and direction of ASM initiatives supporting the next generation of scientists.
