Atharv Jayprakash of the Manhart Lab at CABM (Rutgers SAS Class of 2026), along with Aarav Patel (UC Berkeley EECS Class of 2025), recently won a hackathon hosted by Soma Capital.  They created AutoCrispy, an AI-powered genome engineering assistant. The project uses multi-agent systems to streamline CRISPR guide design, off-target risk prediction, and protocol generation, all in one sleek tool. This project hopes to lower the friction to implementing CRISPR systems in experimental protocols. Atharv drew from his background in computational biology, developed largely at CABM, to help ideate and implement the system’s logic and biological reasoning layer.
