May is designated Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month to commemorate the arrival of the first Asian immigrant and recognize the historical and cultural contributions of people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent to the United States. At the teatime, attendees learnt about the history of the AANHPI, took a quiz to test their knowledge about AANHPI, and enjoyed various kinds of the Filipino cuisine from a Filipino-owned business.
