Against-Homophobia Celebration

In mid-May of 2024, members of CABM gathered with snacks and hot beverages while they learned about the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. Most are familiar with Pride month in June, where we celebrate our differences in sexual orientation, gender, and social norms. However, fewer people spend time understanding the uncomfortable stories of abuse, mistreatment, and unacceptance that come from these individuals who don’t fit older social norms. At this tea time, flyers were available to read with stories of homo-, bi-, or transphobia between family and sometimes friends. It was an eye-opening experience organized by the Blaser lab.
