Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) within Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Temporary Research Assistant will conduct bioinformatic analysis of experiments focused on RNA metabolism in stem cells, development and disease, using in vitro cellular models as well as transgenic mice. The project will involve developing new modeling approaches for coupling functional genomics techniques with computational analyses to understand regulatory mechanisms in RNA metabolism and gene expression in health and disease. Such models are based on multi-omics high-throughput assays, either performed by the PI, Postdoctoral Fellow or by others in the research group, by collaborators in other groups or from publicly available datasets. The project may also involve use and development of software programs for analysis of multi-dimensional transcriptomic, post-transcriptomic, genetic and functional genomics data. The Temporary Research Assistant will be expected to participate in the configuration and maintenance of databases necessary for conduct of the project. It is expected that research will lead to publications and the Temporary Research Assistant will be expected to prepare display items (figures, graphs, charts, tables, etc.) for the manuscripts as well as contribute to the preparation of grant applications. The Temporary Research Assistant will also be expected to participate in training other lab mates or collaborators. This is a grant-funded position contingent on the availability of funds to support it.
