Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) within Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Temporary Research Assistant will be responsible for the performance and analysis of experiments focused on RNA metabolism in stem cells, development and disease, using in vitro cellular models as well as transgenic mice. The project is part of a larger effort in the lab to identify molecular players involved in RNA metabolism in the context of health and disease. The Temporary Research Assistant may assist with coordinating a team of undergraduate students involved in this effort and will work closely with the PI and Postdoctoral (Postdoc) Fellow to allocate tasks and oversee progress.
The project will involve experimental procedures to permit biochemical examinations of specimens and tissues, performed by the PI, Postdoctoral Fellow or by others in the research group, or by collaborators in other groups. This position is an excellent training opportunity for those aspiring to pursue careers in science and/or medicine. The project largely involves biochemical, cell biology and molecular biology approaches. This is a grant-funded position contingent on the availability of funds to support it.
