CABM laboratories offer excellent post-graduate training for future careers in academia, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. Beyond the laboratory experience, postdoctoral fellows have the opportunity to participate in an active Rutgers–Robert Wood Johnson Postdoctoral Association (PDA) that offers a variety of career development resources and activities. Prospective Students
Undergraduate
Rutgers undergraduate students from many different departments perform research in CABM laboratories under the supervision of both School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) faculty members. During the academic year, research is often conducted for credit in departmental programs. Additionally, many departments offer outstanding students the opportunity to complete Senior Honors Thesis and designation as SAS Paul Robeson Scholars while pursuing research projects in CABM laboratories. The Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates (ARC) provides resources and funding for undergraduate research throughout the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus.
Each year, CABM hosts a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program that provides undergraduates an opportunity to conduct full-time research in CABM laboratories for a nine-week period. In addition to the laboratory experience, participants meet weekly as a group with graduate student and postdoctoral leaders to discuss and present their research projects and to learn about educational and career opportunities in biomedical research. Applications for the SURE program are accepted in the Spring semester of each year.
Graduate
